VESSEL at the 2021 Solheim Cup

Since the first Solheim Cup in 1990, this biennial, team match-play competition has grown to be one of the most prestigious tournaments in women’s golf. Not only does it combine tradition and passion for the game, it has become a highly sought-after goal for many golfers. In order to qualify for the U.S. team, players must earn points at official LPGA tournaments based on Top-20 finishes. Golfers that accumulate the most points within the two-year period between Cups are eligible to compete.

This year, twelve of the best LPGA players will face off with twelve of the best European golfers at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. The pros are already running through practice rounds in preparation for the tournament on August 31st. The European team currently holds the Waterford Crystal Trophy, but the U.S. team enters with a 10-6 lead.
